Find Your Bangle Size

A Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Prepare Your Hand: Begin by relaxing your hand entirely, simulating the natural position it would hold when you slip on a bangle.
  2. Identify the Widest Point: Gently bring your thumb and little finger together, and measure around the widest part of your hand, typically from the thumb knuckle across the palm.
  3. Use a Flexible Measuring Tape: Wrap a flexible measuring tape snugly around this point without pulling it too tight. If you don’t have a flexible tape, you may use a string to measure the circumference and then record the measurement with a ruler.
  4. Record the Measurement: This measurement represents the size needed to comfortably slide the bangle over the widest part of your hand without it being too loose around your wrist.

Understanding Bangle Shapes

The above measurement applies specifically to the standard “Peace” shape bangle, characterized by a flat or gently curved inner surface and a convex circular outer surface, referred to as “inner flat, outer circle.” Different bangle shapes may require size adjustments, so refer to each bangle’s product details for accuracy.

There are three primary bangle shapes, each requiring specific size adjustments. For example, if you wear a 50mm Peace Bangle, the recommended size for a Blessed Bangle would be 49mm, and for an Oval Bangle, 52mm. This sizing guide ensures an optimal fit for each bangle style.

Peace Bangle
Known as the “Safety Bangle,” this design has a flat or arc-shaped inner surface with a convex outer surface, offering comfort and wearability. Over 90% of jadeite bangles available in the market follow this style.

Blessed Bangle
Featuring a completely circular inner, outer, and bar structure, the Blessed Bangle, or “circular inner, outer, and bar,” requires a larger and flawless jadeite stone, making it more expensive and popular among collectors.

Oval Bangle
Inspired by the style of Royal Concubine Yang Gui-Fei from the Tang Dynasty, this oval shape provides a comfortable fit that moves naturally with the hand.

Additional styles include free-style (following the jadeite’s organic shape), straight-cut (flat inner and outer surfaces), carved (custom designs like flowers or dragons), and decorated bangles adorned with silver or gold clasps for a distinguished look.
